Reading

I read to Rory everyday. I had to capture this cuteness. I think my favorite thing to do is to have both my girls on my lap while reading a book. There is something so meditative about it-it is simply magical. On a side note, I'm done with school for two weeks! Yay winter break!

Aurora's first date

Aurora and Harrison had their first date.

Harrison is my neighbor's baby.  She had him the day after I had Aurora.  The other day she brought him over and Aurora and Harrison were both dressed up, so we thought this was a perfect time to stage their first date.  Don't you love H's tie onesie.  I love how it looks like they are holding hands.  They kind of look like a little old couple!

outfits

Here are some pictures of Aurora in her hat that Michaela knitted her and the little sweater that Nana made.  The next pictures are of Vi in her Wonder Woman shirt and glasses.  I just love how she looks in these pictures -- maybe because it reminds me of how I dressed when I was kid-- very 80s.  The very last picture is this soda I found at Target. I had to buy it because of our blog and it ended up being very tasty.  Lucky me!!!

Sisters, birthmarks, and breast feeding

I love these pictures. Aurora will one day kill me for posting naked photos, but I had to show you guys her birthmark above her bum! She has one on the back of her neck too.

Big sister helping mommy give Aurora her first bath (This was taken a few weeks ago).

Aurora's first bath picture

So, I came down with mastitis this weekend.  I am going to quit breast feeding.  I feel incredibly guilty about it, but I literally have woken up every morning with clogged milk ducts and pain for the past 5 days, and then add, a fever and chills to it due to the infection. YUK!!! Breast feeding and me do not get along.  The same thing happened with Violet, but I lasted 4 months with her, but I cannot be a good mommy and take care of my two girls with this much pain.  It is too much.  So I will be weaning over the next month. I am, however, looking forward to the freedom of not being chained to nursing and pumping. I think it will be liberating -- not to mention that I will get more than 3 hours of sleep!

4D Ultrasound pictures of Aurora and Abigail's performance

Eric, Violet, and I went and got 4D ultrasound pictures and video yesterday. Here are some cute pictures of my little one.  We think she looks a lot like Violet with bigger cheeks. We got to see her yawn, stick her tongue out, smile and make kissey faces; it was definitely worth getting.

On another note, I have to rave about my sister Abigail's performance as Millie in the play Picnic.  She did a phenomenal job-- so much so that I had a hard time believing that this young woman on stage was MY sister.  Needless to say, her character and her performance made the play.  I could hear people in the audience whispering to one another about how great Millie was.  I wish you all could have seen her up there. She definitely has something special, and she blew Eric and me away!

Aurora's first picture

We are having another baby girl!! After many discussions, we have finally decided on Aurora Brielle Waugh for her name. I think we will call her Rory or Rora for a nickname. At first, we were worried that Aurora Waugh was a mouthful, and it kind of is, but at the same time, I think it works. I just love the name Aurora, and I couldn't pass it up. I hope you love the name as much as we do!
